It’s hard to believe that thirteen years have passed since the Lord first opened the doors for Regalos de Amor to take the Word of God into Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, to minister to the children there. Not even a chilly, rainy day in Nuevo Laredo back in 2011…could stop the kids from coming to receive gifts…and the Greatest Gift of all!You may also remember that a few years back we were excited at the Lord’s expanding our ministry opportunities by opening doors in 3 small communities—Galeana, LeBaron, and Lagunita, Chihuahua State We teamed with Calvary Chapel in LeBaron, as well as Spanish speaking evangelical churches in each colonia for what turned out to be delightful outreaches to the non-Christian children in their areas. Fun games, God’s Word, yummy snacks, gifts distributed and children receiving Christ made for 2 blessed days. All involved left each outreach with joyful hearts and smiling faces. Last year we will travel South to Guanajuato Mexico with Pastor Hector Velarde. We are looking forward to what the Lord has in store for this year!
Not only were we able to give out hundreds of Bibles and shoeboxes filled with treasures over the two weekends, but in the ‘wow’ department: handmade baby blankets, beanies, scarves, gloves and dolls from a number of you hard-working ladies. We were so blessed to be the hands God used to share your love offerings. Moms were so blessed knowing their babies would be wrapped warmly all winter, and their older children would have warm heads, hands and feet. Thank you! And yes…Mexico DOES get COLD! Most homes have no source of heat, so these types of gifts are especially welcomed.
Our goal continues to be placing 50,000 Bibles into the hands and hearts of Mexico’s youngest citizens. We are happy to announce that we have surpassed the 11,000 Bibles mark! For just a $5.00 donation you can help provide Bible materials that will bless a child for eternity.
Over the years we have seen hundreds of young children and their parents receive the Lord. We are hoping that you will choose to team with us again this year, touching a child with God’s gift of love—Jesus, or even taking a new step and joining us in December to experience first-hand the joy of ministering to these children.
You can support Regalos de Amor in four ways. Bypraying for the children and their families, and for God’s direction for the ministry; by donating to either the ministry’s general fund or to the Bible Fund; by preparing shoe box gifts for the children; or by joining us in Laredo over Thanksgiving weekend, to prepare the boxes for distribution, or in December, to help with outreach and distribute.
